Ayurveda for Poshan

The Government of India has focused on improving nutritional status of the country to achieve the target of Swastha Bharat for which Ministry of AYUSH has collaborated with Ministry of Women and Child Development since September, 2020 and has taken many initiatives to address the problem of malnutrition and resultant health issues like stunting and wasting etc. Considering the immense potential of Ayurvedic concepts of nutrition, Ministry of AYUSH selected the theme “Ayurveda for Poshan” for 6th Ayurveda Day. As part of this a health lecture was organized by S.D.M Institute of Ayurveda & hospital from department of Swasthavritta & Yoga for school students of Primary Government School, Anchepalya on 26-10-21 on the topic ‘Nutrition for school going students”. The program was started around 11:30am for around 50 students of 6th and 7th standard with welcome speech by Mr raghu followed with Introduction from Dr Sonia regarding the importance of nutrition for school going students. Interacted with school students and educated them about different food substances and their importance, gave an brief regarding the ayurvedic concept of Nityasevaneeya dravyas and viruddha ahara. Followed by quiz was conducted by Junior Doctor Sanjana, Usha and Spoorthi. At the end the concluding speech was given by Headmaster Mr Sampath.
